Charitable Giving

While most Estate planning involves arranging for the transfer of assets to children upon the death of parents, there are also those clients that include charitable organizations on this list of those receiving assets upon their death.  

Some clients do not have children or deserving relatives to leave their property to and wish to make a gift to a charity that they support, or in some cases to an organization that they routinely support.   

For those clients with large enough estates, that would prefer to see their assets go to charity, rather than pay estate taxes, can use charitable gifting options. 

There is a broad spectrum of charitable planning options – from making outright gifts to creating private foundations. Many of these strategies reduce or avoid income tax. All of them avoid estate tax and benefit the causes important to you.
